The REALTOR® Code of Ethics in Practice
This correspondence course, with no seat timers, provides a practical, real-world approach to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, focusing on how ethical standards apply in everyday real estate transactions. Topics include duties to clients, the public, and other REALTORS®, advertising and disclosure requirements, professional standards enforcement, and risk management.
The course is delivered as a text-based learning experience and includes a downloadable PDF of the full course material. Through applied scenarios and case studies, licensees will strengthen ethical decision-making, improve communication, and better understand how to navigate complex situations while protecting their clients and their license.
This course meets the Code of Ethics requirement for NAR triennial training.
How to Take This Course

Final Quiz, Course Evaluation & Certificate
1. Complete the Final Quiz
- The final quiz consists of 25 multiple-choice questions.
- A minimum score of 85% is required to pass. You must answer at least 22 questions correctly.
- The quiz is completed online and may be retaken as many times as necessary.
- After answering all 25 questions, click Finish Quiz to submit your answers.
2. Complete the Course Evaluation
After passing the final quiz:
- Open the Course Evaluation located directly after the final quiz.
- Answer all required questions.
- Click Submit when finished.
- Make sure the evaluation shows as completed.
You must pass the quiz and submit the course evaluation before your certificate becomes available.
3. Print or Save Your Certificate
Once all course requirements are complete, you can find your certificate in either of these locations:
- On the main course page, or
- Under My Account → My Courses
Click the certificate icon or certificate link next to the completed course. Your certificate will open in a new window or download as a PDF.
You may then:
- Select Print to print a paper copy, or
- Select Save as PDF to keep an electronic copy.
If the certificate does not appear, confirm that every lesson, quiz, and the course evaluation has been marked complete. You may also need to refresh the page. If the certificate does not open, check your downloads folder and make sure your browser allows pop-ups from this website
